I'm based out of Crystal Lake, IL and travel within a 60 mile radius with no fee. I photograph weddings and engagements throughout Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin not limited to: Chicago, Rockford, Woodstock, Barrington, Palatine, Buffalo Grove, Northbrook, Glenview, Schaumburg, Arlington Heights, Des Plaines, Rosemont, Elgin, Geneva, St. Charles, Naperville and Lake Geneva, WI.

Fill out the contact form, let me know your date and I'll send you over an info packet. Most communication between clients happens over email and phone, but I'm more than happy to meet ahead of time via video call or in person. If you choose to have me photograph your wedding day, a $500 deposit if required to reserve the date. The remaining balance is due on or before your event.

Once booked, I'm happy to assist in making the planning process as easy as possible for you. I'll be sending you a questionnaire that helps me get to know your expectations better and we'll discuss the best times for the wedding party, couple and family photos. I offer help with timing, schedules, and determining the best outdoor locations.

Most often, the day starts with me documenting the bride and her bridesmaids getting ready. I take a lot of photos of the dress, shoes, invitation, flowers, rings, etc all before they're put on, during and after. The rest of the day, for the most part, I spend time in the background minimizing my presence so your family and guests can focus on the actual wedding. I frequently move around always trying to shoot from multiple perspectives in hope of catching those powerful moments.

Inspiration can come suddenly throughout the day so when the light hits a certain way or the scene is too good to pass up, I'll ask for us to stop and take some shots. For group photos, I feel very comfortable directing and arranging everyone in the best positions available. During your reception I'll be documenting all the important moments such as introductions, speeches, cake cutting and first dances in addition to all the fun ones of your guests getting down!

Time is not unlimited on your wedding day and I want to be respectful of your schedule so I like to play the role of silent observer. I always tell clients to pretend I'm not there unless I ask for your attention. Your gallery will be filled with candid moments that you may not have realized I took. On the other hand, I know what makes a great photo and am comfortable directing when need be.

My 15+ years of documenting weddings makes the process during wedding party and groups photos a breeze with my fine art background offering creative expression during all the other intimate moments. I believe in my ability to offer multiple shooting styles while still being able to provided a unique and cohesive documentation of your day.

I love nature, sunlight, reflections, shallow dept of field, soft light, love, passion, honest laughs, genuine smiles, and try to incorporate all these in every wedding I shoot. I'm constantly exploring new ways to elevate my images to the next level and I approach the entire process with flexibility, fairness and reason.

For 8 hours coverage you will receive between 600 to 800 fully edited album ready images. This number goes up significantly, to around 1300, for a 12 hour day with 2 shooters.

Yes! Quite a bit in fact. On average, 10+ hours is spent in post production. This means all images are straightened, color corrected, adjusted for proper exposure and provided to you in album ready form.

Your will receive an online gallery link with all your photos within 4 weeks (often sooner depending on the season). You can download all the photos from the gallery but also share them, choose your favorites, and order prints!

If you opted for a wedding package with a USB drive, shipping info will be provided within 4 weeks of photo delivery. Raw files are not provided.

You can use or print your photos with no restrictions! Feel free to share them on social media, email them to family or friends, or make as many prints at as you'd like. In other words, your images are yours to use how you please. Carey Primeau will retain copyright on all photos, but there are no hidden costs for prints or digital files. Print Releases are available by request for no fees.

Yes! Helping clients put together albums is something I do and am happy to help you with the process as well. The book I offer is of top notch quality and aesthetic. The pages are about the thickness of a nickel and the spreads lay completely flat. Images are beautifully printed on durable photo paper that resist scratches and smudges. Contact me for me info.
